Who We Are

Owner, Teresa Torab, has a Master’s of Science in Conservation Biology and has worked with reptiles around the world for over 30 years. Hip Hogs Ltd. is the first entity in the State of Colorado to legally keep and produce captive bred Heterodon Nasicus (Plains Hognose Snakes). Teresa was also the person who formally petitioned Colorado Parks and Wildlife in 2024 to change their historic ban on public ownership of captive bred hognose snakes. As a result, starting on May 1, 2026 it became legal to own captive bred Plains Hognose snakes and illegal to collect any wild caught animals.
